Maldon & Little Baddow 3 Clacton 1

Clacton simply did not turn up for this match against bottom of the table Maldon & Little Baddow.

Having given the home side their only point of the season so far, the home side were up for securing their first win of the season going into the long Christmas break.

The Seasiders had a mixed start but got the break midway through the first half when Carl Parkes fired in a free hit to find Ric Coleman in the right place to deflect it home for a 1-0. But it was all down hill from there with the home side equalising straight from the push back for 1-1 at half time.

Eight minutes into the second half the home side took the lead and with Clacton chasing the game the home side stretched their lead to 3-1 to secure their first win of the season and collect all their points from Clacton.

Clacton failed to get a single short corner during the game which sums up the lack of pressure the Seasiders were able to generate and the home side were in no mood to gift the visitors an easy route back into the game.

The season now enters a six-week break, which will feel like an eternity for Clacton who next take on Dunmow at home on January 20.
