Brett Pitman has insisted tomorrow night’s trip to Old Trafford is more than just a day out for the Ipswich Town players.
The Blues take on the Premier League giants in the third round of the Capital One Cup, with the vast majority of the Ipswich squad playing at the Theatre of Dreams for the first time.
Pitman is one of those players, but the striker insisted he and his teammates are going there for the win and not to simnply enjoy the occasion.
“You don’t get the opportunity to play at Old Trafford that very often and everyone will be hoping to play, of course,” he told Ipswich Player HD.
“It’s the first time in my career that I will go there and I’m really looking forward to it.
“It’s not just a day out though. We want to win every game, regardless of who we are playing.
“Whether it’s a non-League team or Manchester United, you want to win the game and we will be going out there with the mentality of trying to win the tie, that’s for sure.”
