The England Under-21 defender is on the verge of signing a new four-year contract with Chelsea before rejoining Wolverhampton Wanderers on a season-long loan.
The dual arrangement offers Mancienne, 21, the belief that Chelsea still rate his long-term potential and the chance to play regularly for Wolves. It was while on loan at Molineux last season that the defender earned a call-up to the England senior squad. Mancienne spent yesterday tying up loose ends over the unusual arrangement.
