Ipswich Town beat Shrewsbury Town 3-0 at Portman Road to stay top of League One this afternoon.

It's a third successive win for Paul Lambert's men following victories against AFC Wimbledon (2-1 at home) and Bolton (5-0 away).

Town raced into a two-goal. Kayden Jackson's sweeping finish on the run came with less than two minutes on the clock, with James Norwood converting a penalty in the 10th minute after Kane Vincent-Young was fouled in the box.

Shrewsbury forward Shaun Whalley was dismissed for a second booking in the 38th minute, though the visitors did hit the post just before the break.

Ipswich had a couple of minor scares in the second period, but scored a superb killer third in the 69th minute - Flynn Downes producing a brave diving header at the end of a slick counter-attack.
