Many will already know about the likes of Matt Richards and Dean Bowditch, who have made an impact in the first-team squad but rising stars such as Gerard Nash, Antonio Murray and Erdum Okay will also be on show against the Saints at the Playford Road training ground at 2pm today.

Reserve team coach McCall said: "I'm sure people will be getting excited about the England match and rightly so but for us this is more important in a lot of ways.

"Some people may want to come and take a look at us before they go to Portman Road."

Andy Marshall gets a rare run-out. He has not played since the friendly at Boston United where he kept a clean sheet.

John McGreal takes another gigantic stride to a return to the first team, although he will have seen how much progress Richard Naylor has made since switching to centre-back from centre-forward.

Alun Armstrong plays as he attempts to push his way into an under-pressure strike-force who have failed to produce what many believe they are capable of – stacks of goals.

Town reserves: Marshall, Okay, Richards, Murray, McGreal, Nash, Abidallah, Wright, Westlake, Bowditch and Armstrong. Substitutes: Morrow, Price, Atay, Barron and Hogg.
