COLCHESTER United teenager Medy Elito will be representing England at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, to be staged in South Korea later this month.
The U's Academy striker has made the final squad of 21 and will be hoping to play in England's group stage games against Brazil, North Korea and New Zealand. The campaign kicks off against North Korea in Seogwipo on August 18 and coach John Peacock is confident that his young charges can make an impression on the world stage.
He said: “I like to think that we'll be up there with the top sides and it's going to be a great experience for our lads to play in South Korea against the best up and coming players from around the world.” Elito has featured in the U's pre-season campaign, playing on the right flank, although he is yet to make a first team appearance.
