BRANTHAM Athletic and Stanway Rovers are to honour the memory of former player Ross Crouch on Saturday with a charity match.

Ross Crouch, 23, of School Road, Lawford, was killed in May last year when he was involved in a collision with a car while walking home after a night out.

The midfielder played for Stanway Rovers in the Ridgeons Premier League on Saturdays and for Brantham Athletic Colts on Sundays.

The teams will play for the Ross Crouch Trophy in what will become an annual fixture between the two sides.

The match will kick off at 3pm at Brantham Leisure Centre.

Prior to the match, the new Ross Crouch Grandstand will be officially opened Ipswich Town coach Steve Foley at 1pm.

There will be no charge made for admission, but there will a collection for charity. Programmes will be available and all the facilities of the Brantham Leisure Centre will be open prior to, during and after the match. Hot and cold food, drinks will be available and the leisure centre bar will be open.
