Mensah deal getting Closer
JOHN Mensah is expected to be on his way to the Black Cats after passing a medical earlier this week.

All that remains for the Ghana international to have his visa application accepted. He could make his debut against Norwich City next Monday.
Mensah commented: “It is true I was given a document to sign indicating that I am going to go on loan to Sunderland,”
“All documents will be sent to FIFA for approval after the signing and Steve Bruce has confirmed that up to Friday I will get my UK Visa.”

Steve Bruce has spent �25million on players over the summer transfer window. Mensah has been his only defensive signing. Richard Dunne of Manchester City has also been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light.
