Ipswich Town boss Mick McCarthy has explained why winger Alex Henshall’s contract was cancelled by mutual consent.
“That’s down to Alex Henshall, I’m afraid, because he was given every bit of coaching and encouragement,” explained McCarthy.
“We thought very highly of him when he first came (from Manchester City). He helped change the game at Birmingham, when Christophe Berra scored the equaliser that time, then he caught other people’s eyes when he went out on loan to Blackpool.
“Sadly, he just didn’t take it on from where he was. Good luck to him.”
