Grand Prix Midgets set to descend on Foxhall Stadium this weekend
Saturday night sees a ‘Triple Formula Feast’ at Foxhall Stadium, Ipswich.
Headlining the racing will be the 2018 Championship of the World for the Grand Prix Midgets.
We last saw these amazing ‘single-seater rockets’ at Foxhall last August Bank Holiday where their racing was some of the fastest you will ever see at Foxhall where they really get the chance to unleash all their horsepower on the big oval.
These cars are small, colourful fast and spectacular.
This Saturday the very best drivers in the UK will arrive with the best from mainland Europe too, all wanting to take this historic title. If you have never seen these cars before, they are a sight to behold as they are single seater engineering masterpieces with front engine, rear engine and even side engine variants and being a non-contact class, to win is all about skill, speed and overtaking.
Also on a non-contact theme, we have a visit from the Oval Track Legends.
The sight and sound of these ¼ scale Vintage American Coupe and Sedan-style, purpose-built cars is something to behold.
The cars are also single seater and are powered by both 1100cc and 1200cc motorcycle engines which makes their power to weight ratio incredible. This Saturday they are competing in qualifying for their 2018 East Anglian Championship to be held at Gt Yarmouth Raceway on Sunday.
To complete the evening’s programme, the Bangers are appearing to contest a World qualifying Round plus Round 5 of their Whip St Motors Track Championship.
Turnstiles open at 5.30pm with racing commencing at 6:45pm.
