Easter Monday (3pm start) will see the opening of the 2018 season at West Row with the third running of the Fen Fours at Mildenhall Speedway.

With an exciting field featuring the current 2018 team, popular ex-riders and track specialists this years Fen Fours promises to be the most pulsating yet. Never a promotion to stand still the club have also put together a new format across the 17 heats that should provide even more exciting and closer racing than in previous years.

This season’s event sees riders graded into four groups with the riders in group 1&2 racing each other throughout the afternoon, as will the riders in groups 3&4.

Among the guests invited are ex-FenTiger favourites Stefan Nielsen, Danny Halsey, Jon Armstrong and Connor Mountain, plus the likes of Alex Davies and Ben Morley.

Kevin Jolly is very much looking forward to getting the season underway.

“The Fen Fours has proved a popular opener for us and I think this year could be the best yet,” he said.

“We have four well balanced teams, a new format which will improve the spectacle I feel and plenty of riders who know the fastest way around our track.

I would like to thank the four sponsors who have continued their association with this meeting, Manchetts, Browns Builders, Derek Palmer & Sons and Assured Group, their continued backing is greatly appreciated by the club.

“As a club we have had our best winter yet, the club is now set up just how I want it to be and everything is extremely positive and optimistic.

“I must thank James (Easter) for all his advice and support and also Phil (Kirk) and Lee (Chipchase) for all their hard work.

“We have a team of young riders who are so hungry and want to progress through the sport and to hear them talking about nutrition and fitness and sharing their experiences is so refreshing and shows a modern day professionalism that is sure to help them achieve their ambitions.

“I truly am excited by the possibilities this year as there is so much potential in this septet and cannot wait for the season to start.

“I think we will be a match for anyone home or away and with our excellent loyal support it could be a very special year for Mildenhall speedway’
