Although already through to the National Trophy final Mildenhall Fen Tigers will be looking to make it a straight eight victories in their group when they head to the south coast to face the Eastbourne Eagles tomorrow night.

Eastbourne will be full of confidence on the back of a stunning victory 68-21, against rivals the Kent Kings last weekend.

That evening they prevented the visitors from winning a race or even sharing a heat, but that said the Fen Tigers arrive also full of confidence unbeaten in their ten completed fixtures so far this season

With ex-Eastbourne riders Josh Bailey and Danny Halsey in their ranks, along with regular big scorers at the Sussex track Danny Ayres and Drew Kemp, Fen Tigers promoter Kevin Jolly is expecting a close and exciting meeting.

“We have already qualified as group winners, but it would be great to make it a full house eight out eight at Eastbourne,” Jolly said.

“Eastbourne are a very good side especially at their home track but I wouldn’t read too much into last week’s big defeat of Kent. It will be a good rehearsal for the League fixture next month, but we are going there to win make no mistake of that.

“These lads don’t think any other way and although Birmingham provided a firm challenge last Sunday their heads and their belief never dropped and I always felt we would win such is the strength within our group.”

Eastbourne: 1. Georgie Wood 9.47 2. Jason Edwards 700 3. Mark Baseby 8.65 4. Charley Powell 5. Tom Brennan 9.47 6. Connor Dugard 3.47 7. Charlie Brooks 3.29

Fen Tigers: 1. Josh Bailey 8.87 2. Sam Bebee 3.00 3. Danny Halsey 7.60 4. Ryan Kinsley (Capt) 4.53 5. Danny Ayres 8.38 6. Drew Kemp 3.00 7. Matt Marson 3.00

n Ipswich Witches skipper Danny King is facing further tests on his injured arm. King had to pull out of Ipswich’s Championship clash with Edinburgh on Thursday night.

“Danny’s arm is not great and he has some more appointments this week so we will know more then,” Witches team boss Ritchie Hawkins said.
