Mildenhall withdrawn from league

SPEEDWAY: Mildenhall have been withdrawn from the National League.

The Fen Tigers have had their results for the 2010 season expunged from the table.

The sport’s officials are optimistic that the club will return next season with significant interest reported.

National League co-ordinator Peter Morrish said: “It’s been a hectic time as we have tried everything we can to keep Mildenhall going for the rest of the season, but we have just hit a brick wall and admitted defeat.

“However, I am pleased to report there is strong interest in the club and we sincerely hope something can be finalised for them to return to the National League under new management for the 2011 season.”
