A group of talented young table tennis players from an Ipswich primary school are taking on some of the best in the region this weekend.

Both the boys’ and girls’ under 11s teams from Morland Church of England Primary School were victorious at the Ipswich and South Suffolk School Games in October before then coming out on top at the county finals in November.

They now travel to Grantham on Saturday (January 13) where they will represent Suffolk against teams from Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Norfolk and Northamptonshire.

Headteacher Alison Warren said: “We are extremely proud of both of the teams for their amazing achievement.

“Last year the girls’ team reached this stage but to have both boys’ and girls’ teams representing Suffolk as county champions is something they and sports trainer Darren Ablett should be very proud of.”
