It’s almost August Bank Holiday Monday which can mean there can be only one place for the family to go ....Foxhall Heath Stadium, Ipswich for another action-packed race meeting in the ‘Foxhall Bowl’.

As is traditional, the ‘wreck or win’ Bangers are in Town, joined by the ‘elite oval race cars’ that are the National Hot Rods and the ‘single –seater rockets’ that are the Grand Prix Midgets with an appearance of our cheeky Mascot, Timmy the Tyre and our famous Banger Caravan Destruction Derby to finish off the day which makes for a very appealing fixture.

For the Bangers it is Round 8 of the Whips St Motors Sponsored Ipswich Track Championship, returning for another high speed, all action meeting following their recent outings here.

Kieran Greenway leads the Series from Lee Kingsnorth, and Kevin Taylor so it will be all to race for as they race around the ¼ mile oval smashing, bashing and spinning each other out of the way as every driver is doing their best to be the first to the finish line and take the trophy! Bank Holiday Banger racing at Foxhall Heath Stadium is legendary, always full of action and drama and this meeting should be no exception!

Banger Fans should take note that Advance Tickets for the 2017 National Banger Championship of the World at Ipswich on Saturday, October 8 are now on sale and can indeed be purchased at this meeting, or online via the Spedeworth website.

The National Hot Rods return to Foxhall for the first time since their World Championship here at the beginning of July.

Since then, they’ve appeared at Hednesford for their National Championship won by newly-crowned World Champion, Newmarket’s Chris Haird. It’s 2017/18 World Championship round two for the Drivers and Teams so not only it’s a point scoring opportunity, it is also a chance for some track time at Foxhall in their build up to the big race next year.

Chris Crane leads the Points Series from Billy Wood, Lee Pepper and Needham Market’s Aaron Dew so it will be all to race for on the vast Foxhall Raceway.

We haven’t seen the Grand Prix Midgets at Foxhall for a couple of years but they always enjoy a visit to Foxhall where they really get the chance to unleash all their horsepower on the big oval.

These cars are small, colourful fast and spectacular. If you have never seen these cars before, they are a sight to behold as they are single seater engineering masterpieces!

To finish the afternoon in style, we have our traditional famous Banger/ Caravan Demolition Derby Sponsored by our good friends at Oaks Caravans. These are immensely popular and hilarious to watch as the object of the exercise is to eliminate the other cars and caravans so that yours is the last remaining….however! You do have to have at least some section of your caravan still attached to your car to be the winner!

Racing starts at 2pm and turnstiles open at 12.30pm.

Facilities include two fully seated grandstands along the back straight, a brand new grandstand for those who are disabled or have special needs and renowned catering facilities offering some of the best Stadium food in the country.
