ROY Clover drove-in as Fynn Valley Golf Club's new captain in musical fashion.
As a former vocalist and rhythm guitarist with popular 1960s band Nick and the Nomads, Clover decided to use his old guitar to hit his first ball as captain of the club based just outside Ipswich.
Clover said: “It was the guitar that I used to tour Germany and the UK with at the height of the band's popularity. It was getting a bit old so I thought I would mark the start of my captaincy in style.”
All the money raised by the club during Clover's term of captaincy will go to the MacMillan Cancer Support charity.
Subsequently using his driver Clover managed a respectable distance of 227 yards.
