LEEDS fan Dan Harding is ready to consign his boyhood favourites to League One tomorrow.

Harding not only played for the Yorkshire side but is also a lifelong supporter, complete with discreet tattoo. That will not stop him doing his duty for Ipswich at Elland Road which could mean Leeds going down to the third tier of English football for the first time.

Harding said: “It will be hard going to Leeds but if it means me scoring the goal that sends them down then I will do that because I'm an Ipswich player now.”

Harding joined the Blues last August in a deal that took Ian Westlake to Leeds and earned Ipswich another £220,000 in the process.

Westlake is recovering from a groin operation and has not played since the defeat at Cardiff on February 17.

He could be playing League One football next season unless Leeds can beat Ipswich on Saturday and hope Hull City don't get a victory at Cardiff.

Although third from bottom, and a point behind the Tigers, United are on a high after four straight home wins and aim to make Town the fifth.

Leeds assistant manager Gus Poyet is hoping Town are not particularly motivated for the game.

He said: “Ipswich have been playing well away from home and scoring goals. It is difficult when a team has nothing to play for but on Saturday there is nothing to say apart from 'go try and win the game'.

“We have to approach the game with the same mentality as the last four at home.”

With the threats of bans lifted for Town's Alex Bruce and Leeds' Alan Thompson both sides are relatively clear of injuries.

Owen Garvan is the main doubt for the Blues with a bruised thigh, while Lewis Price remains a doubt and Shane Supple is expected to keep his place.

Danny Haynes has been cleared to play after cracking a cheekbone on Monday while scoring one of two goals in the reserves' 5-0 win over Northampton.

There will be a minute's applause before the game in memory of Alan Ball, who died on Wednesday morning.

BLUES target Robbie Simpson has been called up to the England National Game squad for the Four Nations Tournament.

The Cambridge United striker will play in the tournament that involves the national non-league representative sides of England, Scotland, Wales and the Republic of Ireland, between May 20-28.

CARDIFF City have laid on free coach travel for their supporters next week when they play Ipswich in the final game of the season.
