FORMER Ipswich Witch Chris Mills returns to Foxhall Stadium tonight, with new team Glasgow Tigers, hoping to put one over his former club.

Mills was an integral and popular member of the Witches in 2011 as they embarked a new era in the Premier League.

But he wasn’t selected for the 2012 side – something he was disappointed about.

“Yes, I was quite disappointed really,” he said.

“I felt me and Chris Schramm were left a bit high and dry when Ipswich announced their team and we weren’t in it. They could have told us a bit earlier so we could have got fixed up sooner.

“But I still speak to Chris Louis and I don’t have any hard feelings about it all, that’s speedway and I know the score.”

Mills had no club until Glasgow were hit by injuries and they jumped at the chance to sign the Essex rider.

For the Chelmsford-based man however, it means a six-and-a-half hour trip to Scotland each Sunday for his racing, rather than the 45-minute sprint to Foxhall last year.

“I think that’s the most gutting thing,” Mills added.

“It was great just living down the road from Ipswich. I’m only on a 28-day signing at Glasgow and then we are all going to review it. But Glasgow are a good club to race for.”

Ipswich will be hoping to gain all three points against the Tigers tonight.

The Witches home form has been poor of late and they are simply not winning enough races. The Tigers are the current PL champions and are again this year led by Joe Screen.

The former Belle Vue star is in superb form this season and the ‘Sackers’ Witches heat leaders are going to have to gate far better than they have of late, to lower his colours.

In reserve, the Scots have two young Aussies, Jayden O’Malley and Mason Campton. Their duels with young Witches teenager Cameron Heeps should be interesting.
