BURY Town have moved to clear up confusion relating to the future of defender or midfielder Connor Hall, after ‘rejecting’ a so-called offer from Leyton Orient.

Trevor Collins, Bury Town’s director of football, said: “We were contacted by Orient and gave our consent for Connor to attend a trial period with them last week, with a view to them discussing any possible deal with us at the end of the week.

“It was agreed between both clubs that any discussion of an offer would only take place between the two clubs and not with the player direct.

“Despite this, Connor was spoken to directly by the management at Orient, who informed him that they would like to sign him but would not be offering Bury Town any money for a transfer.

“However, nobody at Bury Town has received even a telephone call from Orient and therefore the so-called ‘offer’ which has been mentioned in some quarters is only based around the conversation Connor had with their management and not with us as a club.”
