Division 2C

North Walsham 2 Ipswich III 2

AFTER a reasonable warm up it clearly took Ipswich a while to get into hockey mode as the first five minutes were frantic and unsettled for both sides. Once Ipswich started passing the ball they began to play and establish some control over the game. There was some hard work and slick hockey from Charlotte McWhirter which contributed to making Ipswich look dangerous in the attacking D. First half goals came from Roisin A-H (2), Laurence Pinnell and Vicky Dixon, with Vicky setting up pretty much every single one.

The second half saw Amy Wall (voted player of the game) continue her great work rate and excellent link up play with Fran Tew, who made some excellent runs up the right hand side of the pitch removing the ball from our danger area. Despite Ipswich having lots of pressure they only managed to score one more goal in the second half, thanks to good positioning by Laurence who converted yet another Dixon cross taking the score to 5-1. Special mention to fourth team regulars Rachel Tallent and Laurence for strong performances, and making the trip all the way to Cromer with us.
