Norwich City II 2 Colchester 6

COLCHESTER got back to winning ways with a comprehensive victory away in Norwich. After two poor performances in the last two weeks it was important for Colchester to get back to winning ways and they did so in style, although they made it hard work at times.

Colchester had much the better of the first half and should have been more than the single goal up that they were. Richard Bran showed some good skills down the left hand side before finding Matt Brown in the 'D', Brown centred the ball to Richard Sexton. Sexton took a touch before reverse sticking the ball high into the net.

In what has become the story of Colchester's season, Norwich had equalised within minutes of the restart. However this only served as wake-up call for the visitors as a brace from Matt Brown put Colchester firmly in the driving seat.

Some lax play allowed Norwich to pull one back midway through the half, but this once again stirred Colchester to life and three more goals for the visitors firmly put the game to bed.

Rohan Khaira finished of a fantastic move and Matt Brown completed his hat-trick with a high drag-flick into the roof of the net. Richard Sexton completed the scoring with his second goal of the game with a simple tap in to round off another good move from Colchester.

Mersea Homes man of the match was Matt Brown for his goal-scoring exploits.
