Norwich Union 2 IES 3
Ipswich East Suffolk journeyed home a happy team after beating an in-form Norwich Union side on Saturday.
The match began with IES pushing forward from the start, with the midfield stringing together a good series of passes and linking up well with the forward line.
Kerry Kemp made a welcomed return to the side and made a great contribution on the left hand side of defence.
The first goal came after a brief goalmouth scramble, with Annette White finally finding the back of the net.
A series of short corners followed and Linda Rose slammed in the second goal to double the lead.
The second half saw Norwich Union come back strongly and creep back into the game with their first goal.
IES continued to make successful forays into the Norwich half and Ellie Mason scored a stunning third goal for the Ipswich side.
Once again the hosts came back and popped in a second goal. With five minutes left on the clock IES went down to ten players meaning a desperate finish but giving a result that the travelling side can be proud of.
