We begin today’s on this day from 1997 when Ipswich beat Man United 2-0 at Portman Road, thanks to goals from Mauricio Taricco and Alex Mathie as the Blues knocked United out of the League Cup third round.
Fifteen years ago today, Pablo Couango scored twice as Town beat Burnley 6-1 at Portman Road as the Blues scored five of their goals during a devastating 20-minute spell before half-time.
In 2000, Town drew 1-1 with West Ham at Portman Road in the Premier League with Marcus Stewart scoring for the Blues.
On this day in 1967, Eddie Spearitt scored twice in Town’s 4-0 win over Derby at Portman Road, while in 1995 the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw with Derby at their Baseball Ground.
