We begin today in 1982, when Mich d’Avray scored as the Blues beat Liverpool 1-0 at Portman Road to win their first home league game of the 1982-83 season, while in 1976, Town beat Bristol City 2-1 at Ashton Gate.
Eight years ago today, the Blues beat 10-man Leeds United 2-1 at Portman Road, thanks to goals from Jason Scotland and Tommy Smith, while in 1991, David Lowe scored twice as Town beat Bristol Rovers 3-1 at Twerton Park in the Full Members Cup first Round.
In 2007, Town drew 2-2 with Burnley at Turf Moor, thanks to goals from Sylvain Legwinski and Alan Lee, while the Blues drew 2-2 with Brighton at the Amex Stadium in 2012 with Daryl Murphy scoring Town’s goal.
