In our daily feature, we take a look at what happened on this day in Ipswich Town’s history
We begin today’s feature from five years ago as David McGoldrick scored twice in Town’s 2-0 win over Brighton at Portman Road, with both of his goals coming in the first half to give Town’s fourth win of the 2013-14 campaign.
In 1977, Trevor Whymark scored four as the Blues beat Swedish side Landskrona BoIS 5-0 at Portman Road in UEFA Cup 1st Round, second leg.
Seventeen years ago, David Lowe and Gavin Johnson scored as the Blues beat Grimsby Town 2-1 at Blundell Park to make six wins out of their first 10 leagues game at the start of the 1991-92 campaign.
And finally Ipswich Town captain Luke Chambers was born in 1985, he has since made over 250 appearances during his time at Portman Road, while former Town defender Alex Bruce was also born on this day in 1984, who played 127 games for Town between 2006 to 2010.
