Eight years ago today, the Blues beat Cardiff 2-0 at Portman Road as an own goal from Adam Matthews and a goal by Jason Scotland put Town second in the Championship with seven league games played in the 2010-11 campaign.
Pablo Counago scored Town’s equaliser in the 1-1 draw with West Ham United at Boleyn Ground on 18th September 2004 as the Blues continued their great start to the 2004-05 campaign.
In 1974, Town drew 2-2 with FC Twente at Portman Road in the UEFA Cup 1st Round, 1st Leg, with Town goals scored by Bryan Hamilton and Brian Talbot.
Also on this day in 1962, Town began their European Cup journey as they beat Maltese side Floriana 4-1 at the Empire Stadium in Malta with both Ted Phillips and Ray Crawford scoring the goals for Town.
