THE opening day of Suffolk’s 2011 Minor Counties Championship campaign was washed-out yesterday.
Any prospects of play on day one of the three-day fixture against Bedfordshire at Luton were scuppered by steady drizzle which started falling at breakfast time.
The umpires decided to abandon play for the day at 3pm.
Play is scheduled to start at 10.30am today - half an hour earlier than usual - in a bid to make up for lost time.
