Bolton Wanderers have signed Crystal Palace midfielder Owen Garvan on an initial three-month loan deal.
The 26-year-old had been training with Ipswich Town recently – the club he made more than 150 appearances for between 2005 and 2010 – and was recently left out of the Eagles’ 25-man Premier League squad for the second season running.
He will link up again with Bolton boss Dougie Freedman, having played under the Scot at Selhurst Park.
The Dublin-born player made 13 appearances on loan at Millwall last season and came on as a substitute for Palace this season in a League Cup win at Walsall.
He will go straight into Bolton’s squad for Saturday’s Championship game against Sheffield Wednesday. Ipswich do not face Bolton until December 13, that match at the Macron Stadium.
