PABLO Counago marked his return to Portman Road with a well-taken double as Ipswich beat Greek side Panathinaikos 2-0 at Portman Road.
The Spanish striker struck twice in the first half as the Blues ended their preparations for the coming season with what was by far Town's most impressive pre-season outing.
A crowd of more than 8,000 saw Town go close with a couple of good efforts from Alan Lee and Owen Garvan but they could not add to their goal tally.
Sadly the Blues lost Gavin Williams to what looked a serious injury with 15 minutes to go and was stretchered off.
