Polish defender Piotr Malarczyk is the only senior player involved for Ipswich Town Under 21s as they travel to Watford this afternoon.
The centre-half hasn’t featured for the Blues’ first team since his sending off at Portsmouth in the FA Cup in January and, after having a procedure to remove a kidney stone, is getting some much needed minutes against a Watford side managed by former Leeds and Liverpool player Harry Kewell.
Also involved in the game, which kicks off at 2pm, are Chris Smith, James Blanchfield, Shane McLoughlin, George Fowler and Jacob Marsden, who all signed their first pro deals recently.
Last time out, Mark Kennedy’s under 21 side demolished Bristol City 6-1 at Playford Road.
