THE TRIAL day for perspective football apprentices at Needham Market Football Club was very well attended with youngsters getting their first taste of what life will be like under the watchful eye of ex-professional footballer Kevin Horlock.
The former Northern Ireland international and current Needham Market first-team player, put the players through their paces in bright sunshine at Bloomfields, home of Needham Market FC. Players were asked to take part in a training session followed by an eleven-a-side practice game.
First-team manager Danny Laws was also in attendance and confirmed that over 70% of the apprenticeships had already been offered following the trial and recent scouting.
There are still a few places left and any interested players aged 16, 17 or 18 are urged to complete the simple on-line application form ASAP. The club will follow up any enquiries.
The Apprentices will complete an Apprentice Framework that includes NVQ, BTEC and 1st for Sport Qualifications.
For further information and to secure a place at the trial day go to www.needhammarketfc.co.uk and complete the on-line apprenticeships application form.
