The course passed an 8am inspection and the going is described as 'soft' for today's meeting, which starts at 2pm.
A total of 136 horses are engaged in the six races and the Open Maiden, which gets proceedings under way at 2pm, may well have to be split on the day as there are 42 entries and a maximum field size of 16. Two pony races precede the steeplechasing at 1pm.
