NEW Portsmouth boss Paul Hart wants to make Reading midfielder Steve Hunt his first signing. (The Sun)
The Irish winger, 27, is available for a knockdown �3.5million after Royals failed to get back into the Premier League last term.
Hunt has been told he can return to the top-flight as Reading need the cash.
Everton, Fulham and Sunderland previously tried to land Hunt, who arrived at the Madejski from Brentford on a free in 2005.
Meanwhile, Portsmouth have also made a �2m offer for Hull defender Sam Ricketts. (Daily Mirror)
