DAVID Prutton has signed a permanent deal with Colchester United.
The U's rushed through a loan deal for the 28-year-old midfielder last week so that he could play in that night's game against MK Dons.
The terms of that deal meant he was unable to play against parent club Leeds on Saturday, but the Yorkshire club then released him straight after the game paving the way for the U's to make their move.
Prutton scored a stunning goal within minutes of his debut in the 2-0 win over MK Dons and could now make his first start in a Colchester shirt tomorrow night when the U's host Carlisle.
