MONDAY, August 27 may just see an influx of cranes, balloons, red buses, jumbo jets and pigeons to Gandish Road, home of East Bergholt Cricket Club.

Why, you may ask? Well, Test Match Special's Henry Blofeld, pictured, begins his 50-date national tour by stopping by to open the club's new nets and speak after lunch at the club's annual cricket week.

Henry (or Blowers as he is better known) is one of the stalwarts of the Radio 4 TMS team, was a renowned Cambridge University and club cricketer in his own right and is now better known for his eccentric style and observations around the Test grounds of the world.

Those wishing to purchase tickets for the three-course meal with Blowers should contact Jon White on 07814 940286 or email jonathan.white@uk.pkf.com. Tickets cost £25 each and the meal starts at 1pm. For further information, visit East Bergholt's website www.freewebs.com/eastbergholtcc
