HARRY Redknapp would like to plunder Ipswich's quality-filled squad to aid his newly promoted Pompey side in the Premiership next season.

The Portsmouth boss shrugged off the disappointment of a 3-0 hiding to plan for the future and admitted he was a big admirer of many of the Ipswich Town squad, and its youngsters.

He said: "I need to strengthen the squad, I will need to bring in five or six players although there won't be any real money to spend.

"If there are Ipswich players available we will see. They have players here who can play in the Premier League that's for sure.

"I was disappointed not to get Hermann Hreidarsson because I thought he would be a good signing."

Asked if he had any good youngsters coming through at Pompey, he replied simply: "No." Then added: "But don't tell their mums and dads because they all think they are great."

Redknapp said: "I still think if they get into the play-offs Ipswich will go on and win them."

Redknapp may find he is in for some further disappointment next season, especially if Town achieve what he has tipped them to do.
