ALAN Remblance could not hide his delight after scoring the winning goal for Beccles Town in the Touchline Sports Suffolk Senior Cup final at Portman Road last night.

ALAN Remblance could not hide his delight after scoring the winning goal for Beccles Town in the Touchline Sports Suffolk Senior Cup final at Portman Road last night.

He said of his 44th minute winner: "I launched myself at the ball and it went into the net.”

Remblance, whose 48th minute penalty was saved by Crane Sports keeper Derren Burn, added: “It was the first penalty I have missed for three years and hats off to the keeper for a great save.

“The decision to disallow a second header was a bit harsh, but we won and that's all that matters.”

And Beccles manager Mick Broxup added: “Crane murdered us in the first half and we were happy to still be level when we scored.

“After the break it was a different story and we had control and could have scored more. These lads are not paid a penny unlike many teams in the Anglian Combination and they are all local lads.

“Alan took his goal well and Danny (Cable) made two excellent saves. It's nice to be the first club from our league to win this trophy since Kirkley won the first of their two wins in a row a few years back.”
