MARTIJN Reuser is putting the drama of the past week behind him to focus on being an influential part of Ipswich Town's promotion push once again.

The Dutchman (left) was told last week he could leave on a free transfer and then his wife gave birth to a little girl over the weekend.

He was excused travelling to Sheffield United but was back in training this week trying to ignore the sleepless nights and transfer speculation.

Reuser said: “It was a bit of a blow last week to be told I was being given a free transfer, especially when other things were going on.

“But the transfer window has closed now so I won't be going to a Premier League club, for now at least. I'm in the squad for Bradford so all I'm doing now is concentrating on trying to get in the team, show Joe what I can do and try my very best for Ipswich.”

Although Portsmouth and Sunderland were linked with the one-time Dutch international and Ajax midfielder, no firm bids were tabled.

He said: “I'm not really surprised. There was only a week left of the window when they announced I would be available on a free transfer and that was not really enough time. Also the transfer market has been very quiet as we have all seen.”

Ipswich travelled to south Yorkshire last night with a fully-fit squad and the same starting line-up which began at Sheffield last week is expected to start against Bradford this afternoon.

Thomas Gaardsoe has a bruised ankle and Tommy Miller will play through tendinitis behind a knee.

Although East Anglia has been hit heavily by snow Bradford has escaped the bad weather and roads leading to Valley Parade are clear so there is no danger of the game not going ahead.

Bradford City boss Nicky Laws has had to juggle his pack after losing Andy Gray and Peter Atherton to suspension.

A move to bring in Adrian Littlejohn as emergency strike cover collapsed last night when the unemployed forward was left upset when his wages were reported in the Yorkshire media.

If Laws sticks with two front men then Danny Cadamarteri, a former Everton player under Royle, will start up front with Ashley Ward, after making a 70-minute appearance in the reserves in midweek following a tendinitis injury.

As he has more choice in midfield, even though Jamie Lawrence is not available, the Bantams boss may opt for five in the middle with any two from Craig Fishlock, Juanjo and Andy Lee joining Simon Francis, Michael Standing and Claus Jorgensen.

Laws did manage to ease his goalkeeping woes by signing Stefan Magnusson from Farum BK. The 22-year-old did not feature in Farum's pre-season friendly against Ipswich in Denmark as he was third choice behind Henrik Zarp and Jorgen Nielsen.
