CENTRE-BACK Mark Roper scored a hat-trick as Woodbridge powered past Great Yarmouth with an excellent 5-0 win in last night's extra preliminary round FA Cup tie at Notcutt's Park.
Roper was left unmarked at the far post to tuck home the first after 10 minutes from Ben Seaman's low cross and thumped home the second just after the break when a Seaman corner fell kindly for him.
Woodbridge dominated the second-half and a flowing move saw substitute Ben Garnham set up Allicion Blake to round the keeper for the third goal with eight minutes remaining.
Substitute Paul Berry squared for Jon Bickers to side-foot home No. 4 in the 87th minute.
Then, in the last minute of the game, Berry was felled in the box by Will Lewis and the referee had no hesitation in awarding a penalty. Roper came forward to score from the spot to complete his hat-trick in style.
