BUNGAY and District Sports Association groundsman Ross Stannard has won the accolade of Suffolk County FA Groundsman of the Year. Stannard will now be entered into the National Competition to represent Suffolk against all the other counties in England.

Stuart Smith, the Sports Association's ground maintenance committee chairman, said: “We recognise that creating decent sports pitches takes time and money, but it is nice to know that the money we allocate is being very well spent. Ross is a credit to his profession, he takes great personal pride in how the pitches are prepared and I am sure this is well deserved recognition for his talents.”
