Rovers striker off to Dubai

CARLOS Villanueva is quitting Blackburn for a lucrative move to Al Shabab in Dubai.The Chile striker - on loan at Ewood Park - was upset at being ignored by boss Sam Allardyce for much of Wanderers' survival fight and will switch to the Emirates League.

CARLOS Villanueva is quitting Blackburn for a lucrative move to Al Shabab in Dubai.

The Chile striker - on loan at Ewood Park - was upset at being ignored by boss Sam Allardyce for much of Wanderers' survival fight and will switch to the Emirates League.

Al Shabab have agreed a deal that could be worth �5million to Villanueva's club Audax Italiano, who play in Chile's premier league.

Audax Italiano were willing to sell to Rovers if Villanueva had been a hit in England.

Villanueva will pocket �500,000 from his club through the deal, as well as picking up a salary of �40,000 a week.
