ROWHEDGE JUNIORS UNDER 11's 0 v 2 AFC SUDBURY

AFC Sudbury made it two in two with another fine all-round performance to see off Rowhedge Juniors at the Recreation Ground.

AFC controlled the game throughout and should have scored within the first 10 minutes when Lewis Walker burst through the heart of the home side defence only to see his effort smothered by the keeper.

Moments later Jordan Aris supplied Nathan McGraw who cut in from the right wing only to be denied again by the home keeper.

As the half wore on AFC pushed hard for the opener with the pick of the chances coming from Jasmine Pilcher, who after being expertly put in the clear by Zac Smith, frustratingly saw her fine shot yet again saved by the keeper. With the clock running down in the half, Sudbury was almost caught out from a corner. A last-ditch tackle from Jack Hurrell, ensured the scores were even at the break.

The second half saw a more patient Sudbury side controlling the game and probing for what could have proved to be the winner. Eventually the deadlock was broken when Oliver Ellis played in Nathan McGraw to score his first of the season. With little threat from the home team AFC doubled their advantage shortly after when Ellis again played a sublime ball to Man of the Match Lewis Walker who made no mistake this time.

But for an excellent goalkeeping performance from the Rowhedge stopper the score might have been more. Further saves from Mitchell Gardiner and Jonathon Richter ensured the match finished at 2-0.
