The 32-year-old from Stowmarket beat South African Robin Ashby 16-0, 10-0.
Ceriann Davies, a 29-year-old psychology graduate from Australia, became the first woman to reach the last 16 when she beat Jamie Hill, the 16th seed from New Zealand - only 48 hours after becoming the first woman to win a world championship match. She won 4-10 11-1 2-0.
