EDF Intermediate Cup Round 3 Portsmouth V Bury St Edmunds

Bury are the last remaining East Anglian Club in the cup, and make the long trip to the South Coast buoyed by a run of three successive victories, including two away wins, at Diss and Westcliff. The club is in a secure position in London 2 North with a share of third position, and the cup offers a chance for the coaching staff to continue developing the depth of the squad.

Last years captain Curry makes a welcome returns to the squad, having recovered from major surgery to his neck over a year ago. Jones returns to claim a spot in the front row, and Towel continues to show good form in the back row and claims a starting berth. Channel returns from having represented the army at U23 level, and West returns from injury to rejoin the centres. Webdale joins the bench as a new recruit to the club, and has impressed in training, and Beukies reverts to the full back spot.

Portsmouth are mid table in London One, and this will be a great oppurtunity for Bury to pitch themselves against a team from the league that they aspire to join.
