Ipswich Town loanee Ryan Fraser is set to be sidelined for six to eight weeks with the hamstring injury he sustained in the latter stages of Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at QPR.
The Bournemouth loanee underwent a scan on Monday and the news is as bad as first feared, manager Mick McCarthy having described it as ‘nasty-looking’ straight after the game.
The flying left-winger has been Town’s star man this season, exciting fans with his direct-running. He was sidelined for 12 matches with a knee injury between September and December, Ipswich’s record during that time read W5 D4 D3.
It’s understood that Ipswich are closing in on the addition of Ben Pringle, on loan from Fulham, as a replacement.
