FELIXSTOWE & Walton United are poised to complete the signing of midfielder Blake Saker from fellow Ridgeons League Premier Division side Leiston.

Saker, who was linked with a move to the Seasiders in the summer, is expected to tie up the formalities tomorrow after agreeing to join Glen Driver's side.

The former Tottenham Hotspur trainee, who played a prominent role in Leiston's FA Cup run earlier this season, was at Notcutts Park on Saturday to watch Felixstowe & Walton defeat Woodbridge Town 3-2 to guarantee their top-flight status for next season as they reached the 40-point mark.

Driver said after the game that the deal should be concluded tomorrow and also revealed that he and Tony Kinsella, his first-team coach, have held “positive discussions” with chairman Tony Barnes about continuing next season.

They took over earlier in the campaign after Steve Potts parted company with the Seasiders who made a poor start and been languishing in the bottom three.
