Scott Mitchell has returned to Conference North side Lowestoft Town.

He originally joined the Trawlerboys in 2009 and had four seasons with them before leaving at the start of the 2013/14 season.

Mitchell signed for AFC Sudbury, originally on a three-month loan deal, in August 2013 before signing a two-year deal with the club. In July 2014, however, he was sold to Leiston where he stayed until rejoining AFC in March and playing until the end of last season.

During his two spells with Sudbury he made 56 appearances and scored five goals.

Mitchell was also red-carded against his new team for an off-the-ball incident during Leiston’s Suffolk Premier Cup semi-final defeat, at Kirkley & Pakefield, last season.

Meanwhile, Macclesfield Town have announced the signing ex-AFC Sudbury defender Curtis Haynes-Brown from Lowestoft Town.

The 26-year-old former Colchester United youngster has agreed a deal to take him to the Conference Premier after a successful spell with the Trawlerboys.
