THE Blues slumped to their third defeat in a row as relegation-threatened Brighton hit them with a double whammy.

Nicky Forster pulled one back from a Darren Currie cross with a minute left of normal time but it was not enough to deny Albion a much-needed victory.

The Seagulls, who started the day bottom on the Championship table, went ahead on the stroke of half-time when Gifton Noel-Williams took advantage of slack marking to turn in the area before finishing from ten yards.

Defender Joe Lynch stabbed the ball in from close range after Shane Supple fumbled a Paul Reid cross under pressure in the 72nd minute.

Ipswich Town lost defender Richard Naylor to concussion eight minutes before the break and the Blues never really recovered.

Forster went after an hour to play in his first game in nearly four months after knee surgery.
