A 2-0 win over Aston Villa was enough for Ipswich Town to win the First Division title, on this day in 1962.
The Blues, under the guidance of Sir Alf Ramsey, had only been promoted from the second division the previous summer, but two goals from Ray Crawford were enough to secure the win they needed to lift the title in their first season in the top flight.
Ipswich left the field after the game not knowing whether their result was enough to lift the title, but when the news that rivals Burnley had managed to earn just a point, the near-29,000 crowd went wild.
