IPSWICH Witches team manager Mike Smillie is to decide his future over the winter months.
He took charge of the side for last night's Sky Sports Elite League speedway meeting against Eastbourne Eagles at Foxhall Stadium.
But whether he remains in charge in 2008 depends on radical changes being made to British speedway.
Smillie, who has run team affairs at Ipswich since 1998, privately admits that being on the wrong end of a string of big away defeats has taken its toll.
He said: “If the big boys dig their heels in and diffuse attempts to make changes then I will be ready to walk away.”
